#3  Note that when greeting someone who does not extend their
hand to shake yours, its is safest to nod and give a verbal salutation.

#7  In some cultures, raised voices is a sign of an exciting
conversation among friends.  Thus, some Americans may react with
greater alarm to a loud discussion than would members of some
other cultures.

#15  Pay attention to non-verbal communication.  Non-verbal
communication includes not only facial expressions and gestures, but
personal distance, and sense of time.

#25  Be aware that often the elderly are revered in other countries;
they are respected and their opinions are important.  Sometimes
elders are the decision-makers in the family, or the ones to resolve
problems.

#34  Remember not to shout if someone doesn't understand you.
Remember that they simply don't understand, they can hear.

#42  Make an effort to see things from the other person's cultural
perspective. This will help you develop empathy in difficult situations.

#52  If you work with people who speak a foreign language, learn a
few words in their language - people like it when you show an interest
in their culture.
